Fantasy Friday: August 20th

Who to Start:
Shane Victorino - OF - Philadelphia Phillies:
Since coming off the DL August 12, Victorino has proven how important he is to the Phillies lineup. In the seven games since coming back he has his four multi-hit games. He has raised his batting average up 10 points and has 2 steals. I was stupid enough to keep him out of my weekly team and I am paying for it. Not a good time of the year to make mistakes coming down the stretch, just three weeks before playoffs.

Who to Bench:
Ty Wigginton - INF - Baltimore Orioles:
The past seven days has not treated Wigginton very well. He has been a very streaky hitter all year long and this week proves it. He is batting .172 (5-for-29) with zero RBIs and HRs. He has walked once and score 4 times. The hits in the middle of a weak Orioles lineup and should be benched until further notice.

Who to Add:
Austin Jackson - OF - Detroit Tigers:
He has hit safely in his last 7-of-8 games. In that stretch he is 11-for-37 while scoring 5 runs and hit his second homerun of the season. The young center fielder is in his first year with the Tigers after getting traded from the New York Yankees in the Curtis Granderson deal. If your batting average is struggling and you need more runs, Jackson is the guy for your team. Down the stretch he could help you make a run in the playoffs.

Who to Drop:
John Lackey - SP - Boston Red Sox:
Lackey recently picked up his first win in the month of August this week vs. the Angeles. Since July 4th he is 2-4 with 3 no decisions. His ERA has been well over 4.00 all year long and the only way he gets a win is with massive run support from a injury plague Red Sox lineup. The past two months he is allowing 3.6 runs per game.
