#Twittertrends Week of August 16th

Braylon Edwards (#TheBeard)

This summer Edwards (@OfficialBraylon) has done some media relations work of his own by growing a very large beard that will most likely get him stopped at any airport to be searched. The Beard has been the talk of the Jets training (other than Revis's holdout) at Cortland State College. He has posted pictures throughout the summer of his beard and you can see how much it has grown. How he is going to fit a chin strap around it is beyond me.

Roger Clemens (#rogerclemens)

Clemens was indicated on six accounts for lying to Congress about using steroids during his career. The seven-time CY Young award winner and his x-trainer Brian McNamee, testified under oath at a 2008 hearing before a House committee and contradicted each other about whether Clemens did indeed use steroids.

The case has now been assigned to U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton who happens to be the same judge that was involved with Vice President's Dick Cheney's former chief of staff, Lewis "Scooter" Libby. Libby was disbarred by the D.C. Court of Appeals in 2008 who was convicted in a government scandal. He was sentenced to 30 months in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Clemens might not get out fo this one with Walton has his judge. No date has been set for Clemens' initial court appearance.

Miguel Cabrera (#cabrera)

Cabrera has been tearing up the New York Yankees pitching apart this week in the Bronx. His last 5 games (including today's afternoon game vs. the Yankees) he has 5 HRs and 6 RBIs (3 of those 5 HRs came against the Yankees). Yankees relief pitcher Chad Gaudin hit Cabrera in the eighth inning of Wednesday's game after Cabrera already hit 2 homeruns. Today in his first at bat he hit a 2-run homerun off Phil Hughes.

Cabrera is on a mission!
